Photo Story: Behind the scenes of SLC

This is Irene Reed, one of the new student employment workers.

Peeta Talavera is our new volunteering coordinator.
And I believe she has been on the team and at the college for a term.

This is the former Rocky, Tim Cruse, and he has been here for about 7 years now. He is now currently just a office worker in the student helping the office stay clean and helping us out still as well.

This is Travis Overvig, and he has been in the team for a term, being the new vice president.

I think he's been at the college for less than a year.

This guy, Gage Lund, has been a student at the college for a year or two, but become one of the new 4 or 5 event planners of the team.

Krystal Overvig, still helping with the SLC and I think still doing the student outreach connector.

Been at the college for a couple of years now.

One of the former 3 Rockys on the team being a handler for one of the new Rockys.
By the way, for each of the assigned Rockys, one of the other Rockys that aren't the mascot during that time become the mascot handler instead.

This was on earth day, so this was the beach cleanup down at Lincoln city after the park cleanup.

This was with the former Rocky working together with our former volunteering coordinator Sawyer  Brubaker during our winter term Waverly park cleanup.

Of this year that I'm aware of, since week 3-5 of winter term, I've been working with all these wonderful people that have either been just student leadership and or student leader council(SLC).

In these photos are all of the current team of SLC and student union, as well as some of the old team. However, a couple of the photos are about the interaction of other cooperative collaboration of other students working and some small connection to the student union.

We also do other events to help volunteer for cleaning or setting up for cleanups and other collaboration events to support and connect with other programs and community work.

But we make sure that we support the students on campus and make sure that the student union office is welcoming for everyone who wants to stop by.

(Also, I've, Sage Powell, been a student here since the beginning of year 2022, so in the school year of 2022-2023, and I've started off being just the office worker of the student union.)

Other than Rob Camp, this amazing and friendly person is Amanda Mendel, she is the person who got me into the student leadership and the one who makes sure that people in the office working has jobs to tackle for making sure that the place is clean and welcoming for students.

This is the whole point of the student leadership and the council in this supportive and friendly team:

The Student Leadership Council (SLC) represents the students of Linn-Benton Community College, ensuring student participation in governance and policy development; ASLBCC Student fees; organizing student events; and providing an official voice for students.
